And if that's not reason enough for businesses ( a few million have already signed up to Threads) to update their business cards, we have just had news that Elon Musk is brewing up massive super app changes for Twitter (now Twitter 'X' – not a blue bird in sight)! Customers will be reordering and refreshing their business cards to keep up with these exciting changes.

So, fellow Zazzlepreneurs, get ready to meet their needs and make a statement with your designs! Let's create business cards that leave a lasting impression and stand out in this dynamic digital landscape. Are you ready for the adventure? Let's go! 💪

Who Uses Business Cards in 2023? Don't we do all our business online now?

Despite the rise of online transactions many business types still use business cards because they network and meet clients face to face often in their professional dealings and if they have a brick-and-mortar business, they often have promotional materials such as flyers, brochures, and business cards handy for potential and existing customers to take away with them. Business cards can also be multipurpose in that they double as loyalty or VIP rewards cards. This increases the chance of repeat business and that their customer will keep hold of that all-precious contact card! You never know when they might use it to refer a friend.

So let's look at who is MOST likely to order business cards from you!

  1. Networking Professionals:

  2. Small Businesses and Entrepreneurs

  3. Creative Industries

  4. Professional Services

  5. Trade Shows and Events

  6. Brick-and-mortar businesses

  7. Hospitality and Tourism

  8. Professional Speakers, presenters

  9. Custom and Luxury Brands

Now that you're convinced that Business Cards are a great opportunity for Zazzlepreneurs to create waves! Let's look at some basics of Business Card design

What information do I need to include on a Business Card?

Below is a list of the typical information you'd expect to find on a business card BUT Zazzlepreneurs be aware that in this day and age with the advent of QR codes, sometimes LESS is more. You do not need all this information. If one 'link' can guide a customer to every other 'link' ie social media platform you do not need to have them all added to the business card. BUT this is as much about educating your customers as it is about you in designing the cards.

TIP! Do both types for every business card niche and have one business card with 'it all' and one with a more minimalist approach.

Here's a list of the essential information and details typically found on a standard business card:

  1. Business Name

  2. Logo

  3. IndividualsName

  4. Job Title

  5. Contact Information:

    • Phone Number:

    • Email Address:

    • Website:

    • Physical Address: If applicable, include your office or business location's address.

6. Social Media Handles: Optionally, you can include icons or URLs for your social media profiles (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) if relevant to your business.

7 .QR Code: A QR code can be included for easy access to your website or contact details through mobile devices.

8. Tagline or Slogan: If your business has a memorable tagline or slogan, consider including it to reinforce your brand message.

9. Optional Additional Information:

  • Certifications/Licenses: Display any relevant certifications or licenses, particularly for regulated industries.

  • Business Hours: If applicable, include your business's operating hours.

10. White Space: Leave some blank space on the card to avoid clutter and make it visually appealing.

TIP: Make sure the text is legible and easy to read. I find that adjusting my screen size to accurately reflect the dimensions of the business card allows me to properly see how clear the text is for the customer in terms of the size of the letters.
